Day 9 – 531 miles of joy.  46° to 86°.  Not bad even riding in the 86 temps.

At breakfast in Susanville, CA which is just west of the Dixie fire.  Kevin did a google maps route from there to Fallon, NV.  Our nights stay.  There were many road closed warning on US 395.  Our route to here.  At the decision point we were able to ask a CA fire worker about us getting through, he said, I doubt it.  So we took what we thought looking quickly at the restaurant a alt route.  We even were following a semi who also though this way was a good idea.  NOT.  At the Nevada border the road turned to gravel.  A car that just got off it heading the opposite way advised us not to do the 20 miles of gravel.  The semi had already turned around.  SO back we went and opted not to test if the original route was good, headed north and then east then back south.  A 300+ mile run to Fallon.  All is good.  Tonight we did a Google map route back to Susanville, NO closure warnings.
