8-17  Day 6.  Low of 61° with a high of 81°.  Most of the day it was in the low 70’s.  Excellent riding weather.  Lots of smoke/haze.  We pretty much road from Forsyth to our stop in Missoula.  As interstate riding goes, it was better than most.  Some sections were sweepers.

Got a text from Kevin.  His parts to fix his bike did not come in.

Todays pictures.

Day 5.  Low of 68° and a high that lasted 3 hours of 104°.

416 miles.

Down part of the day was Kevin Q’s u-joint failed on his ST1300.  Good part – Honda dealer 35 miles away and they have it 80% ready to repair once UPS arrives tomorrow.  Greg, Russ and I continued on per Kevin’s request.  Once his bike is fixed, hopefully tomorrow, he will plot a route to meet at a days ending point.

Other than being HOT all has gone well for the other 3 of us.

Overnight in Forsyth, Montana.

Our trip got started on 8-12 at about 11:15 AM from Montfort.  I met Greg and we rode up to Lanesboro arriving at 2:00.  While unpacking I had an empty saddle bag that was suppose to have all of my clothes, toiletries and other needed items.  That bag was sitting in my hallway in Montfort.  A real DAH moment.  My good buddy Tom drove up to join the group in his car. A few minutes of chuckles and he drove me home and back after retrieving my forgotten items.

Today was pretty uneventful.  We stopped in Fargo, ND to visit the widow of a good riding friend, Colleen Collins.  Had a nice visit and then road the final 90 miles to our motel in Jamestown, ND

We had a low of 50° to a high of 96° and a stiff front quartering wind.
